James Blunt says sex is very important to him.

The 'You're Beautiful' singer - who has been romantically linked to Paris Hilton, and split from supermodel Petra Nemcova last year - admits he can't live without regular bedroom sessions.

He said: "Sex is as important to me as it is to the next man, and, you know, it's pretty important to him."

James also revealed he enjoys drinking alcohol and cites after-show parties as one of the best perks of his job

He added: "After shows, we like to drink. At four in the morning I'll have anything that's going. After every show we have a party. 85 concerts every year means 85 after parties in 85 different countries!"

Speaking about how he copes with negative press, James insists he has never visited a counsellor because every interview he takes part in is "like serious therapy", but admits he sometimes finds it difficult.

He said: "Sometimes, reading my own media, the negativity can upset me, but I just deal with things on a positive basis. I have 20,000 people singing my words back to me on a nightly basis - they share my hopes and fears, and they relate to my own life experiences. I am happy."
